The Cockermouth Street Collection

Our Street Collection in Cockermouth on Saturday the 11th of April was a great success.

We made £284. A big thank you for supporting us so generously.

The Eskdale Dog Show

Once again this year, on the 16th of May, we were invited by The North Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue Trust to run a stall and bring our dogs along to their Annual Dog Show and Fete at the Bower House, Eskdale.

The weather forecast was very poor but, undeterred, Mary and her band

of volunteers set up the Animal Concern Tombola Stall. The table was crammed

with 300 prizes that Mary had been busy collecting over the weeks leading up to the show and the Tombola drum was filled with 3000 tickets.

As you can see the weather was kind to us with just the occasional shower and Mary's hard work paid off as we raised almost £300.

A lovely relaxed and welcoming atmosphere was generated by both the organisers and The Bower House staff and we all had a very enjoyable day.

Our dogs and their handlers were the stars of the show. We won 6 rosettes!!

In the 'Best Rescue' category we almost

 swept the board with Jay placed second;

the gorgeous Charlie, third;

Roxy not only came fourth, but along with Beth, picked up third in the 'Best Six Legs' category!

and beautiful Saffie was Highly Commended.

Last but not least our own special Fizz

came third in 'The Veterans' section.
