Fundraising achievments - 2008
This year we have received over £6000 in donations thanks to a number of fund raising events and regular contributions.
We are extremely grateful to all the individuals, schools and companies who have undertaken sponsored walks, dressing down days and other imaginative projects.
This support along with a £10,000 grant from the Samuel and Freda Parkinson Trust has allowed us to make huge improvements to our kennelling facilities in Workington.
We would also like to thank Peter Newberry and his young helper who have given their time freely each weekend to undertake the work.
The dogs no longer sleep on bread crates and shredded paper but in luxurious enclosed beds which will keep them much warmer during the cold winter months.
We now have a new super sized shed to ease our storage problems.
We also hope to put an extra kennel next to the shed for dogs that are recuperating after surgery.
The area at the bottom of the kennels that was once overgrown has been cleared to eventually create a large run with agility apparatus.
Last but not least we have a Portaloo which makes the volunteers day much more comfortable!
Many, many thanks to all of you who have made these projects possible.
